A formal letter– You are a college student in an English speaking country. You share a rented apartment with others, but want to move to the college accommodation instead.
Write a letter to the dean of the hostel and explain your intention to move to the college accommodation. In your letter:

– Give reasons displeasure with the current accommodation
– Explain why you think college accommodation will be better for you
A formal letter’s model answer–
Dear Sir / Madam,
I am Ivy Marie an engineering student of 1st year’s batch in IT stream from George Brown College in Toronto, Canada. I belong to India and enrolled in this university in January 2019. Currently, I live in a rented apartment which is a gated community. However, now I require hostel accommodation.
Let me explain to you the reason why I am not satisfied with my lodging. In my rented house we are total 4 students who live in a single bedroom flat. The other 3 students are not ambitious and focused on studies. They do late night party on every weekend at home and their peers keep visiting them which perturbs me in my studies. I often do not get enough time to concentrate on my studies.
I believe that hostel accommodation will be a good option for me, I would be able to concentrate on my studies as the final exams are approaching on three months.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours faithfully,
Ivy Marie

Dear Mr. Robertson,

I have always wanted to enhance my skills on this concept which is like a dream come true. I noticed from a follow-up email that you are looking for someone to be the part of the organizer of the event and I offer myself for the role.

I take pleasure in performing such roles and you could be rest assured that I am the right person for your social event as well.

Dear Ivy,
I hope that life is great for you and your family. And, I believe that you were able to pass with flying colors in your 11th final exams. I’m writing this letter to inform you that I lent you one of my favourite book on mathematics by Professor H C Collins for your exam preparation.
I’d like to remind you for returning that book to me as it was gifted by my mother two years ago and it’s close to my heart. Mr. Collins is considered as the best reference book by many schools and universities.
Let me explain to you why I need that book on an urgent basis. Currently, I am preparing for SAT and my mentor has advised me to solve mathematical questions from that book to build strong concepts.
